#140conf (meetup) Recap
On Monday tweeps from all over So Cal gathered for Jeff Pulver’s (@JeffPulver) #104conf LA Meetup at the world famous Comedy Store on Sunset Blvd. The speakers were thought provoking, funny, and inspiring. Eric Greenspan (Founder of Make it Work and Co-Host of the event) just posted the entire video of the event here. Every speaker brought something unique to the event and each one of the videos Eric posted is worth the watch.
I’m not sure how it happened, but I found myself sitting next to Simon Mainwaring (@simonmainwaring) the first speaker of the event. Even if you are not familiar with Simon, you certainly are familiar with his work. Take a look here and count how many ads you recognize. (The Prius jingle is still “da-da-da dum”(ing) in my head.)
Below is Simon’s talk in its entirety (filmed by yours truly). If you don’t have time to watch the entire video I urge you to take a look at his breakdown included below. (The breakdown is just a snippet of this blog post he wrote about summarizing the event.)
…I spoke about ‘Timeless Truths of the Real Time Web’ … I’ve added a breakdown of the key points below with additional links to deep dives on each topic. As always, I’d love to know your thoughts.
5 CONVERGING TRENDS

There is a lot of information to absorb here, and this is really just the first speaker! For a good recap of the event, again I recommend either Simon’s blog post or Bruce Sallan’s.
The meetup was one of the best I have been to. With the actual event rapidly approaching in October should you find yourself anywhere near LA I encourage you to join me, because you can bet I’ll be there. (*With any luck I’ll be speaking*)
t(h)ink on.
