Everything That Exists Was First An Idea

I can’t recall exactly where I first heard the line I used for the title (If you know the source please leave a comment with a link!) but it is something that I think about every single day. With that in mind I want to shine light on two people close to ThinkHere who (whether they know the statement or not) are perfect examples of it.

PJ Hoberman (@HookedOnWinter) just launched DenverOffTheWagon.com a Denver, CO based site all about the alcohol culture and community in Denver. To steal and alter a phrase from the New York Times (in addition to borrow an excerpt from one of their first posts), they’ll provide all the booze news that’s fit to print. They will bring stories, interviews, reviews, calendars, commentary, and whatever else they can think of that fits.

Shane Mac (@ShaneMacSays) has been working on a wide variety of projects. Most interesting of which are his upcoming book, and an incredibly useful web tool designed to help job seekers get noticed and get hired with personalized video pages at http://sayhellothere.com. It is simple and it just plain works.

There are quite a few other ‘Thinkers’ out there with projects worth sharing, and I will do everything I can to shine the spotlight on them moving forward.

  2. Not sure if the sources are the same, but Mike Dooley, a featured philosopher on ‘The Secret’, and who operates online as ‘The Universe’ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8x4sVR67wCk), also touches on this very subject. His talks are based on three simple words: Thoughts become things. Believe it or not, but it’s pretty inspiring. Put it this way, if there was a 50/50 chance of it being true, wouldn’t you rather take the chance that it was? It’s really a win/win situation..

  3. Say Hello was recently mentioned in the US News and World Report. http://money.usnews.com/money/blogs/outside-voices-careers/2011/03/25/11-new-websites-for-your-job-search

CEO “Shane Mac” also wrote a blog article the other day about how this app came to be and the entire development and launch process. It’s at: http://blog.shanemac.me/from-a-notebook-to-launching-a-startup-lesson
